What To Expect

Howdy, Austin! It’s SXSW time. It’s also the start of our 50th year of business unusual. We’re excited to celebrate right here in our Austin retail store. Join us for conversations around regenerative organic agriculture, corporate and grassroots activism—and the importance of weaving environmental and social justice into the fabrics we wear.

Bring your cup for happy hour(s) and that old jacket you’ve been meaning to repair (our Worn Wear crew will show you how). Fun runs, coffee, tacos, screen printing, and a glimpse into what we’re asking ourselves: What’s Next?

Join us for a full day of action and learning. The morning begins at 8 AM with a group fun run (5K and 10K), followed by coffee and tacos. In the afternoon, the festivities will continue with Worn Wear repairs (11 AM – 3:30 PM) and screen printing (2 PM – 7 PM). Plus: education on local environmental action groups from PODER (People Organized in Defense of Earth and Her Resources), Urban Roots and Austin Youth River Watch. At 4 PM, we’ll ease into happy hour with food from Huckleberry, drinks from Patagonia Provisions and the Austin Winery, and live music from Ryan Cassata.

When: Saturday, March 11, 2023
Where: Patagonia Austin, 316 Congress Avenue
Time: 8 AM - 7 PM

Full event schedule below...

8 AM
Will Run for Coffee, Tacos, and Saving Our Home Planet

Join us for a low-key fun run, with 5k and 10k options led by Fleet Feet and 5Run2. From Patagonia Austin, we’ll head to the Ann & Roy Butler hike and bike trail, on ancestral Jumanos, Coahuiltecan, Numunuu Sookobitu, Ndé Kónitsaaíí Gokíyaa, and Tonkawa lands. Afterwards, we’ll nosh on all-important post-run refreshments from Creature Coffee Cart (10 AM – 12 PM) and Taco Deli.

10 AM - 5 PM

Don’t Mess With Our Home Planet

Stop by anytime to make your own screen-printed shirt (starts at 2 PM), fix your old gear (our Worn Wear team will show you how from 11 AM - 3:30 PM), and learn from PODER, Urban Roots, and the Austin Youth River Watch.

5 PM - 7 PM

Happy Hour: Cheers to Collective Action!

Eat, drink, and learn about the power of grassroots organizations with Patagonia Action Works, an online platform that connects you to environmental action groups in your community. Hill County Alliance will be joining us to talk about their efforts to protect the Central Texas Hill Country. Eat sustainable seafood from Huckleberry. Drink Patagonia Provisions beer, The Austin Winery wine, Still Austin Whiskey Co. spirits. Design your own t-shirt with on-site screen printing. Groove to live music by Ryan Cassata.
